Freeze dried Bit-O-Honey

Freeze dried Bit-O-Honey is probably going to be awesome!

This one is super exciting!!

I really like Bit-O-Honey anyway, so freeze dried Bit-O-Honey is going to be even better, I just know it! The one major down side of it normally is how terribly it gets stuck in the teeth, lol. Freeze drying these should completely eliminate that problem:)

For these, I cut them into thirds, as I know from other freeze dried candies I’ve made, things like this can super expand! I also spaced them out pretty well to ensure they have plenty of space to get bigger.

Once again, I used the Ice Queen’s (Harvest Right Home Pro Medium) Candy Mode. I did 5 minutes of tray warming, and then let it do its thing!

Ok, just wow! Freeze dried Bit-O-Honey is freaking amazing!! πŸ™‚

This candy turned out fantastic! They’re nice and crunchy, which is what I was hoping for! They did expand quite a bit, so I think cutting them in thirds was the right call. Definitely won’t get stuck in the teeth, either… which is just a nice little bonus:)

How long did the freeze dried Bit-O-Honey take?

Since I did this batch right after the Twizzlers, which did not work at all, the Ice Queen freeze dryer did not need to do the cooldown again. I just clicked the button to do another batch of candy. I did the five minutes of tray warming, then I ran it for two hours. Worked perfectly, I’m super happy with the results!

I maybe could have gone less time, like 90 minutes or so. However, since this was my first time doing Bit-O-Honey, I didn’t want to go less than the two hours, just to be on the safe side.

Happy freeze drying!!
