I really hope freeze dried Junior Mints are amazing!
OMG are they done yet???
I absolutely LOVE Junior Mints. I very much like Bit-O-Honey and Milk Duds as well, but not nearly as much as Junior Mints, lol. I really hope these come out light and crispy and awesome.
I haven’t looked anything up about these, so I have no idea what they’ll do. I cut each in half and spaced them out pretty far, just in case they do expand like other candies have in the past. If they don’t expand much, I’ll know for next time 🙂
Once again, I used the Ice Queen’s (Harvest Right Home Pro Medium) Candy Mode. I skipped the tray warming and went straight into drying. I’m excited 🙂
These are yummy, but not really worth it, lol.
The freeze dried Junior Mints are good. They’re still a bit chewy, but also have a crunch. The chocolate was melted some when they came out of the freeze dryer. So I let them chill out a bit and the chocolate harden again. I probably won’t bother with these again. Like I said, they’re good, but not worth it. Junior Mints in their original state are still #1. 🙂
How long did the freeze dried Junior Mints take?
Like other candies in the past, I used candy mode and let it go for 3 hours. It didn’t need a full on, machine run defrost afterwards. I just left the door cracked and the drain line opened and it was cleared in about an hour.
Happy freeze drying!!
Junior Mints in their original state cannot be beat! These poofed a bit, but not much. The chocolate melted some. They’ve now got a crunch with a tiny bit of chewy. I won’t bother with freeze dried Junior Mints again.. not a cool enough difference. But we will eat all these😂 pic.twitter.com/gYjHLvp4DL
