Freeze dried Milk Duds

I’m guessing freeze dried Milk Duds will be super delicious!

I’m ready to eat them now, lol.

Much like Bit-O-Honey, I love Milk Duds aside from it getting stuck in the teeth and stuff. So having crunchy ones is probably going to be rad!

I’ve seen photos of these and know they’ll expand quite a bit during the freeze drying process. So before even starting, I cut them all in half. I just used my good kitchen scissors to cut them, which worked really well. They’re not nearly as difficult to cut as some candies I’ve done in the past. I then made sure to space them out on the trays.

Once again, I used the Ice Queen’s (Harvest Right Home Pro Medium) Candy Mode. I skipped the tray warming and went straight into drying. I’m excited ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh yeah, these are super good!

The Milk Duds are awesome! They’re nice and crunchy, super good! They basically turned into awesome crunchy, crispy balls of mostly air – it’s so weird! Of course, I liked Milk Duds to begin with, so I guess it figures I’d like them this way, too. Lol.

Hubby and our teenager also tried them. Got the thumbs up from both. So I would for sure they these Milk Duds (or Moo Duds as I’m going to call them, lol) are definitely a huge hit! I’m actually going to make more today, haha.

How long did the freeze dried Milk Duds take?

I let these go in the Ice Queen freeze dryer for 3 hours. They came out perfectly, if you ask me. Didn’t need to defrost after this, just went straight into doing another batch of candy. I need to do more Bit-O-Honey and mini marshmallows ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy freeze drying!!
