Freeze dried pineapple. Again.
It’s just so good!!!
I’ve made freeze dried pineapple in the past using fresh pineapple I chopped up (check out that post here), and it was good. This time I found organic, non GMO canned pineapple rings to try. I did cut the rings into about fourths or so before putting it on the freeze dryer trays.
The pineapple filled two trays. I also had two trays of apple slices, and one of cantaloupe. Everything was pre-frozen.
After doing her 15 minute cooldown, the Ice Queen (Harvest Right Home Pro Medium) was ready. Yay for more freeze dried pineapple! 🙂
Pineapple is always awesome, just wish I’d made more, lol
I love the pineapple, as I mentioned before. I just wish I had made more of it. I put it in mylar bags, 1.2 ounces per bag, with an oxygen absorber (I use Wallaby ones). I only got 5 bags, which is not very many. There were a few extra pieces that wouldn’t fill a bag, so I just ate those, lol.
How long did the pineapple take to freeze dry?
The pineapple, cantaloupe, and apples took 44 hours and 19 minutes total.
I will definitely be doing pineapple again. Next time I will do a lot more, try to fill all five trays up with it, ha!
Happy freeze drying!!
