Let’s try freeze dried Twizzlers!
I really like Twizzlers, so lets see how they are freeze dried!
I read online that they will be nice and crunchy. Then someone on X (formerly Twitter) said if she remembers right, they do nothing. Since I dig them anyway, I’m excited to try this. I did cut the Twizzlers in half and then laid them out on the tray with space between.
I’ve made other candy before (read about them and other candies here), but not Twizzlers. For this, I did the Warm Trays thing for 18 minutes. It’s a random number I chose, has zero significance or reasoning behind it lol.
Like with the freeze dried Skittles, I used the Candy Mode the Ice Queen (Harvest Right Home Pro Medium) has. So after the 15 minutes minute cooldown, I then did 18 minutes of tray warming, and then the three hour process of drying the candy started. Hope they turn out awesome!
So… that was a waste of time, lol
The Twizzlers simply did not work, hahaha! They’re exactly the same now as they were before running them through the freeze dryer in Candy Mode for three hours. It’s a good thing I like them normally, or it would be a total waste!
Not sure why someone online says they work. Maybe if I did the full blown freeze drying process instead of Candy Mode? I don’t know. That’s something I could maybe do another day. But I don’t want to waste all that time and energy if it still won’t work.
Was totally worth a try, but I will not be running Twizzlers through in Candy Mode again 🙂
Happy freeze drying!!
Freeze dried Twizzlers!!! Are exactly the same🤣 maybe if I had done them regular freeze drying instead of using Candy Mode?? I have no idea, but lol. I’m going to start a running post of things that DON’T freeze dry well😂 pic.twitter.com/pvnX55M0dU
