Sweet potato burger buns are astonishingly delicious!
Being completely honest here, when I say these sweet potato burger buns actually are really good. I’m not joking.
Before starting, best to note that the absolute key to these turning out is awesome is choosing some seriously large sweet potatoes. The fatter the potatoes, the bigger the buns.. and we want them to be at least big enough for the burger. So be aware of that prior to starting this lol.
Sweet Potato Burger Buns
For a sweet tasting, no bread burger bun option, try sweet potatoes!
Ingredients
- 1 large sweet potato The size of the sweet potato will determine the size of the finished buns.
- 3 tbsp ghee or butter Flavored oils are not recommended as they will change the flavor of the sweet potato. Extra virgin olive oil will work though, as will other oils.
Instructions
- Peel the sweet potato.
- Slice sweet potato, keeping each slice 1/4 inch or less in width.
- Add ghee or butter to skillet over medium heat and let ghee or butter melt.
- Add sweet potato slices to the skillet, as many as will fit at a time. Flip after approximately 2 minutes and then let cook for another 2 minutes.
- Let finished potato slices rest on a paper towel for about 5 minutes before serving.
